"CIRCULAR TIME MACHINE"
"CIRCULAR TIME MACHINE"
2006
H:16" W:11" L:8"

Press button and 2 spinning wheels turn inside each other while
spinning on a central axis, hence 3 movements at once.

A small video camera shoots up through the spinning rings at
viewer placing their image live on the television monitor
(embedded in a photograph of waves).

Waves are the pulse of the planet, a sort of cyclical clock, the
machine is a manmade clock, placing the viewer inside these
two things in real time. It has been proposed that the possibility of being watched is the regulating force of modern society. In Panopticon, the visitor can take pleasure in their control of this space, but only with the knowledge that a surveillance camera is probably over their shoulder.
