Blythe rest stop
here's my nice little routine. I can tolerate around 400 miles of greyhound travel a day. I git on the morning bus and unswervingly greyhound provides us valued customers with a 30 minute meal stop halfway along the way. hence i have lunch at fast food somewhere. they seem to have werked out deals or something.. i remember a while back the sf-la run they used to stop at carl's junior in kettleman city and maybe that was even one direction and a different place in the other direction. now adays, the stop is always at coalinga junction something like 50 miles norther of kettleman.
on the la-feenix route the designated stop is on the CA/AZ border where the
I-10 meets it is a small town named Blythe. sheesh that name.. is it related to "blighted?" oh well.. it's a nice place to stop for fast food on a greyhound bus in my estimation. the "three palms" are in the back of the mcdonalds parking lot where there is an actual real miniature greyhound station. i think you can see the station at the right side of this pic.
i never eat at mcdonalds here (coalinga
i do, however eat at the designated burger king, although there are maybe almost equal options, but they are far enough away from the BK to make it irritating). in blythe, right accross from mcdonalds is a del taco and a jack in the box. i usually opt for jack in the box, but i have went for del taco. also, there is an arco station with a food stop and a subway in it. sometimes i need to buy something in ther i ferget.
