Artadia loser
Dear Friend:

Your contributions as an artist make the Bay Area among the most vibrant creative communities in the United States. Artadia is honored to facilitate the review and support of the broad range of exemplary work produced by Bay area artists like you. Last week the Artadia San Francisco Bay Area first round awards jury convened to review more than 520 applications whose diversity in subject, background, and medium reflect the highest caliber of contemporary art practice today.

The jurors for the first round review were Daniell Cornell (Director of Contemporary Art Projects, de Young Museum of Art in San Francisco ), Lauren Cornell (Executive Director, Rhizome.org at the New Museum ) and Silvia Karman Cubiñá (Director, Moore Space, Miami). The selection process was lively and spirited, an indication of the exceptional quality and depth of creative practice in the Bay Area. The determination of the short-list was made all the more difficult by the large number of excellent applications received.

While the review process facilitated exposure of your work to these great curators, your application was not selected for the finalist round in this current cycle of San Francisco Bay Area Artadia awards.
We encourage you to re-apply to our 2009 cycle. As you may know, we enlist a different group of top notch curators and artists -- each with unique perspectives on contemporary art practice -- for each award cycle in communities across the country.

Thank you for your application and we are grateful for your interest in Artadia’s programs. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and look forward to following your work in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Lila Kanner
Program Manager
