Dear Mr. Spelletich:
The application review panels for the 2008 Media Arts Fellowships in New Media were recently completed. It is with regret that I am writing to inform you that your proposal, Realm of the Puddle, was not among the final projects recommended for funding.
We want to congratulate you on having been nominated for a Fellowship, and we wish to thank you for participating in the process. The competition for funding was intense, as 50 artists submitted proposals. Every year we are deeply inspired by the great work we see from all nominees. And every year we are sorry that we were not able to support all of the projects of merit.
Please keep doing the work you are doing. It is important to the world that you continue developing your creativity and talent. We hope that we will have future opportunities to support your work. Keep in mind that it is not unusual for an artist to be nominated a few times before actually receiving this award.

The list of 2008 Media Arts Fellows will be available on our website on May 1st.
You have received this letter attached as a PDF, but it can be mailed to you on paper, if you wish. We also offer to return your sample work materials to you by request. You are receiving this letter from Renew Media as our recently announced combination with Tribeca Film Institute is not yet finalized.
