The World Can't Wait (www.worldcantwait.org) is organizing
people living in the United States to take responsibility to stop
the whole disastrous course led by the Bush administration. We
seek to create a political situation where the Bush
administration's program is repudiated, where Bush himself is
driven from office, and where the whole direction he has been
taking U.S. society is reversed.
Right now, we are calling on people to join together on October
5th and declare to the world that the Bush regime does not
represent us and we will not stop until we drive it out. On Oct. 5
No Work, No School. No Shopping.
The millions of people who are disgusted, distraught, outraged,
angered, and fearful of where Bush is dragging the country need
to know about Oct 5 and act now to make it what it needs to be.
There are times in history where what one does, and does not
do, can have impact for years, even decades. This is one of
those times.
Be part of changing the course of history. Here's how to begin
getting involved:
a) Donate generously & frequently. Our advertisings campaign
will call on people nationwide, in small cities and large, to take
part in Oct 5. $500,000 is urgently needed in the next two
weeks for the next step in our national advertising campaign.
People who are outraged and isolated must be reached and
galvanized into a moral and political force that can lead in
changing the whole political situation. There is no other group
out there today playing this critical role. Your contributions to
these efforts will make a far greater difference in stopping the
disastrous direction of things than any other contribution you
could make at this time.
b) Join in organizing Oct 5.: come to meetings across the
country on Sept 7. In New York:

Many have poured money and hopes into Democratic Party
candidates. But the Democrats are aiding and abetting every
step of the way. Just look at what they say. No major Democrat
opposes the war in Iraq. Pelosi says "impeachment is off the
table." Schumer champions anti-abortion candidates. Obama is
for attacking Iran� Politics as usual is setting and cementing
horrific terms, from conceding the most basic rights of women
to debating how to execute most effectively an immoral war for
empire.
Only through massive -- really massive -- political protest and
upheaval can we stop this fascistic trajectory. It is up to us.
The October 5 outpouring needs to be a turning point in the
political direction of the country. It must break open the flood-
gate of public opinion for bringing these crimes to a halt and
bring forward waves of people determined to drive them out.
The hour is getting late, but it is still not too late. Give like the
future depends on it, because it does.
