Hoh Rain Forest Tree

The trees have spread roots, because the saplings germinate on the trunks of fallen trees. The ground cover is too dense to permit tree seeds from sprouting on the forest floor. Once the fallen tree rots away, the tree is left standing over it's cosmic shadow, thus giving their stilty apperance.
